  • Hi Brian – great question! While the NFC scanner in the Apple Watch indeed could work, we have not yet designed an Apple Watch app. Thanks for letting us know that would be of interest. I’ll pass it along to the programmers.

Yes, they’re both freezer-safe! The main difference is how you attach them. For the freezer, I recommend the oval hole button with a silicone band.

Lynn, you don’t need to use the cardstock with magnets. Simply place the magnet directly on the metal can and it can be read by your phone. The magnets aren’t really flexible, so they need to go on the top or the bottom of the can. Hope that helps! 🙂

The WayClips are not like a chip clip. If that’s what you’re looking for, you can buy the type of chip clip you like and use a WayTag sticker. The WayClips are more like big plastic paperclips. They’re good for thin cardboard like cereal boxes and granola bar boxes.

Lynn, index cards will work to do what you described with the rubber band. You can also check out this blog post for other label options. https://www.wayaround.com/accessories-for-your-waytags/ You can put those labels OVER the WayTags and it will still work. If you do that, keep the sticker on the paper backing and just use the adhesive from the label.

For the oval hole button, loop the rubber or silicone band through the hole and make a slip knot. Pipe cleaners work well with the two-hole button. Jaz has a video about grocery shopping, and she has oval hole buttons with rubber bands on her wrist while she shops – pretty cool!

Hi Maria! You can get your prescriptions (or supplements, OTC, or other meds) from Accessible Pharmacy and they will put a WayTag on it before mailing it to you! Here’s more info: https://www.wayaround.com/accessible-pharmacy/

Hi Lynn, the magnets are square. One hint is with WayTags, any of the square tags can go on metal. The square tags can also go on plastic, glass, or anything else, but if you are tagging something that is metal, you will need to use a square tag. Your idea of attaching a WayTag to a piece of card stock or index card is a great idea! You can use a WayTag sticker – either square or round should work. For cans in particular, you can also use a WayClip with a rubber band. If you use the magnet, put it on the top of the can. If the can has a pull-tab, you can slide the WayTag right underneath the tab. Any of those methods work well. It’s purely a matter of personal preference which one you choose!

Hi Lynn, I’m so glad you’re loving the WayTags! I’d recommend using a silicone band. They are stretchy just like rubber bands, but the food-grade silicone won’t snap in the cold. Silicone bands come in lots of different diameters. You can search online, or visit our blog post to find some direct links to where you can purchase silicone bands. https://www.wayaround.com/five-clever-ways-to-attach-waytags-to-your-things/

Hi Nick, yes we can help get the info from your tag. Please send an email to connect@wayaround.com so we can work with you directly. If you know any of the information that was on the tag – a key word or phrase – that will be helpful.

Hi Brian – that’s something that will be available in the future. Right now our web portal lets admins for WayAround for Public Spaces edit their WayTags from anywhere. We plan to extend this capability to personal users at some point. We’ll keep you posted!

HI Filiberto – that’s a really interesting idea. I will certainly pass it along to the dev team. Also, stay tuned because we have a pretty exciting announcement coming later this week that has to do with prescriptions. 🙂

Hello Heidi! There could be a number of things going on. Could you send an email to connect@wayaround.com with the best way to contact you? We can help figure out what may be happening. Please do not post your personal info to this forum. Thanks! Jessica

Hi Yoo Jin – most phones are able to read the stickers on a rounded surface. Make sure you touch your phone to the tag rather than having it hover in the air. If it’s still not working, you could switch to oval hole buttons and attach them to the tube or bottle with a rubber band.
